D.S. Bradford Teams Up With Serj Tankian For “Your Mom” Music Video
Philadelphia-based artist, animator, and musician D.S. Bradford marked a milestone in his career as a visual artist with the hard-hitting and fun music video release of Serj Tankian’s “Your Mom” – the third single from his Elasticity EP (Alchemy Recordings/BMG). What was originally slated as only a lyric video morphed into an all-out animated storyline, peppered with Tankian’s energetic performance.
Kory Grow of Rolling Stone described the artistic fusion, “Despite the heavy subject matter, Tankian’s sarcasm and animator D.S. Bradford’s tongue-in-cheek visuals make the tune feel lighthearted.”
The layers within the song, which is about a mom that defeats terrorists, and the overall storyline of Bradford’s animations highlight the follies of human decisions and war and how their effect on the planet has been a detriment to hope for undeniable sustainability.
Revolver Magazine called the music video a “moving, metaphorical clip” and an “evocative visual” for the standout track.
Prior to this music video release, Bradford had worked with Tankian and System Of A Down to produce visuals for poetry collection Cool Gardens and the “Genocidal Humanoidz” audio visualizer, respectively.
